As a commercial lawyer, I work closely with my clients’ in house teams and external advisers and work as an integral part of their business. This means that I can understand the business objectives and help implement them in a way which works for them in a “real world” context and not just legally.
By way of example, I recently undertook a major project with one of my clients to develop a suite of contracts for their purchasing team, ranging from purchasing contracts for small £1-2000 matters up to multi million pound outsourcing deals.
The key element of the project was to get team buy in to the project and to create user friendly documents which reflected the business’ preferred position on key matters. One of the most enjoyable parts to this project was the ability to work closely with all business stakeholders and engaging with the teams at every stage of the process.
