The Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) has called on the chancellor to deliver a budget full of business-boosting measures as well as tackle the banking and energy sectors.
It also wants government-back support schemes to be better-focused and tax reform to create a system that supports enterprise.
The FSB welcomed tax cuts for micro-businesses who recruit staff and pledges to reduce red tape on small firms, but urged George Osborne to “maintain momentum”.
John Allan, national chairman of the FSB, said: "Our research continues to show increased confidence across all sectors and notably in members' investment and employment intentions.
“With the recovery underway it is important that businesses begin to feel the measures already announced are having a positive effect on their business.
“This is why the chancellor should look at ‘focus and delivery' for initiatives already announced to create long-term growth."
