Business think tank the Centre for Entrepreneurs (CfE) is to take over running of the StartUp Britain campaign, founded three years ago to bolster UK start-ups and small businesses.
StartUp Britain is currently run by a group of entrepreneurs, including Supper Club founder Duncan Cheatle and Enterprise Nation founder Emma Jones.
It undertook a series of initiatives including a nationwide bus tour; one-day events promoting start-ups in the food, fashion and entertainment industries; and created a retail arm called PopUp Britain, which set up in 12 empty retail premises.
Luke Johnson, serial entrepreneur and investor as well as chairman of The Centre for Entrepreneurs and StartUp Britain, said: “StartUp Britain has pioneered a range of innovative initiatives to boost public awareness of entrepreneurship.
“As the founders step away, the Centre for Entrepreneurs provides the natural home for the campaign to live on and prosper.”
