Exhibitors at this year’s Festival of Speed include space sustainability innovators, robotics trailblazers, an all-electric take-off and landing jet and remote motion capture technology to revolutionise animation.

Now in its 31st year, the Festival of Speed (FOS) focuses on the future of mobility and technology, bringing together international innovators and world debuts at its Future Lab pavilion.

One graduate of the pavilion is the Indy Autonomous Challenge team, who will return to showcase their world’s fastest autonomous race car and attempt an autonomous world record on the Goodwood Hill.

Other technologies on show include Astroscale and Wayfinder by Privateer, which cleans up space junk and future-proofs new satellites for longer lifespans and a tidier ‘deorbit’.

Shadow Robot is billed as the world's most robust dexterous robot hand series, designed and built for industry applications and AI research, while the Lilium Jet by eVolare is the ‘world’s first’ electric take-off and landing jet.

Future Lab Ambassador and astronaut Tim Peake said: “It’s always fantastic to see the next generation of scientists, explorers, engineers and innovators interact with the Future Lab exhibits.”

Supported by Mastercard and Randox, Goodwood’s Future Lab innovation pavilion is designed to showcase dynamic, interactive technology geared towards industry enthusiasts and wannabe scientists, inventors and explorers alike.

“Visitors to the Festival of Speed can experience the work of groundbreaking innovators and their vision for tomorrow’s world,” The Duke of Richmond, the event’s original founder.
