The government has launched a discussion paper on the administration of business rates and is calling for views from businesses.

Ministers are inviting business owners to discuss how the administration of the system can be improved and made more efficient.

They says the review will help them make the system “more responsive” to increasing property values as well as easier to comply with.

Local government minister Brandon Lewis said: "A key part of the government’s long-term economic plan is to back business with taxes which are lower and more efficient."
