The Institute of Directors (IoD) has unveiled a new business hub in the heart of Manchester, offering its members a modern workspace and networking opportunities.

Located at Clockwise Manchester in Linley House, a short walk from both Piccadilly and Oxford Road stations, the hub is designed to meet the growing demands of IoD members for a flexible, central space where they can work, meet, and collaborate.

Linley House, originally built in 1963 as an electrical station, has undergone a significant transformation to become a co-working environment. IoD members now have access to the space Monday to Friday, from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., as part of an initial six-month partnership with Clockwise Manchester.

Debbie Black, chair of IoD Manchester, expressed her enthusiasm for the new facility, highlighting the benefits it brings to the local business community. “The hub is a fantastic addition to our membership offer. It provides drop-in co-working space in an excellent, central location where members can work, hold meetings, and grab a bite to eat in the onsite café, Two Hands,” Black said.

She also hinted at future plans, stating that the hub would serve as a venue for monthly in-person events starting in 2025, aimed at supporting members and the wider SME sector.

Black plans to create a vibrant calendar of events where members can learn from experienced directors and share business insights. “A common theme when speaking to members is the desire to benefit from the wealth of knowledge and experience within the IoD community. The hub will play a key role in facilitating this exchange,” she added.

With a leadership team in place, Black is now looking to grow the Manchester branch committee. Keen to ensure the committee reflects the diversity of the IoD membership, she has encouraged those interested to reach out to her directly via LinkedIn.
