The news comes despite high inflation and rising interest rates.
British companies were more confident about their trading prospects in March as a higher percentage expected their sales to rise, a survey published on Thursday showed.
The Office for National Statistics said a net 8% of businesses saw turnover increasing next month, compared to a net 3% of firms that anticipated sales would fall in February when asked in the previous survey.
