The Department for Business Innovation and Skills has chosen venture investing platform JustInvesting to deliver a new website connecting entrepreneurs with investors.

The website (www.growthshowcase.com) profiles UK technology success stories and provides an opportunity for fast-growth businesses to match with business angels and early-stage venture capital firms.

JustInvesting, which has raised more than £2 million for businesses through its own platform, will run the website. The site was created as a partnership between two government projects Growth Accelerator and Innovate UK.

Growth Accelerator supports around 18,000 UK businesses with mentoring and online advice, while Innovate UK, formerly known as the Technology Strategy Board, helps businesses develop new products and services.

Nigel Walker of the Innovate UK said : “GrowthShowcase is just one way in which we are working to support entrepreneurs and the early stage investment community, and we look forward to working with the JustInvesting team, benefiting from their expertise in this space.”

The pilot scheme also involves the British Business Bank and the UK Business Angels Association.
