4 Surefire Ways To Send Your Competitors An Employee Care Package

Your goal, among other things, is to beat the competition into the ground. By finding a gap in the market, and filling it, and increasing your organisational intelligence, you can easily hit this target. However, you require quality employees to churn out results, and they are hard to find and even harder to keep.

What’s worse is when you send your best workers to your rivals wrapped up with a bow on top. You think this isn’t going to happen, but the reality is that it occurs all the time when companies do the following.

So, as soon as you spot these signs, it’s time to change-up for the sake of your business’ future.

Ignoring Ideas

The source of the idea isn’t important. The essential thing is that you have, recognise and implement them regularly. Sadly, bosses often get lost in the power structure and hierarchy to treat employee ideas with respect.

Not only does this show them disrespect, which the best workers won’t tolerate, but it’s a sign of a lack of growth. Once they feel as if they aren’t taken seriously, your employees will jump ship. The thing to look out for is whether people are comfortable offering suggestions, or whether they’re disillusioned with the process.

Dismissing Market Compensation

You’ve raised wages in line with inflation, so your company has done its part. Of course, this is naive because it’s not about what you must do, but what you should do relative to the competition.

While money isn’t the only feature that employees search for in a job, they do want compensating for their efforts. Should they realise that a competitor’s offer is more lucrative and the role is similar, your turnover rate is going to skyrocket.

If the business doesn’t keep tabs on what rivals pay their workers, it’s going to turn your employees’ heads.

Forgetting About Life Outside The Office

A balance between work and life is vital, but not in the way you might think at first. Yes, the ability to work remotely and have more independence are features you shouldn’t ignore. However, you also want to provide perks that boost the lifestyle of your workers.

Commercial vehicle finance is a fantastic option as it eliminates a significant cost that every employee requires. A private health insurance policy is another consideration, as is a free gym membership. The latter is an investment as it not only negates poaching, but it ensures employees are healthy and, therefore, productive.

Complicating Processes

You might think a process is necessary; however, your employees will feel differently. And, their view is a big deal because they have to work with the structure regularly. When processes are unnecessarily complicated, it will only lead to higher stress levels.

If you don’t find a way to relieve their tension, they’ll suffer from fatigue. Once this happens, it won’t take long before they come to a realisation - they need a change of scenery.

Unless a complex process is required, you should keep the chain as simple as possible. Wouldn’t you want to bounce if you were stressed out all the time?
