So you want to plan a luxury event. There are many things to consider to ensure your celebration goes off without a hitch and your guests are still talking about it for weeks to come. This is why we’re here to help you with all of your planning needs.
From location to food and entertainment, we’re going to cover everything you need to make your event one to remember.
Establish the reason behind the event
Firstly you need to establish why you’re planning the event. Is it a birthday, a wedding, a baby shower or something else? Once you know what you’re planning you’ll be able to get an idea of what you need to order and who to invite.
If, for example, you’re planning someone a surprise birthday party, you know you’ll need to spend time getting their contacts in order. If you’re planning your wedding with your partner, you will have to discuss the budget and priorities with your other half. The celebration you're catering for makes a huge difference to how you approach the planning and organisation so take a moment to think about that end goal carefully.
Make a guest list
Make a rough list with all of the people you want to invite. This will help you when it comes to finding the venue, as there is no point in viewing a venue with a capacity of 50 when you want to invite 200 people.
First, write down everyone who is a must, these are the people that can’t be removed off the list if, for some reason, you have to reduce the guest list. Then write down everyone else. While everyone who gets an invitation is important to you, you’ll likely have some people who need to come over others.
Find the venue
Depending on the type of event and your number of guests, there are many venues out there you can choose from. Whether you want a grand stately home for your wedding, a community centre for the surprise 50th birthday bash or a quirky teepee in your garden there are plenty of brilliant spaces you can make your venue. Remember, a venue is just the place to host your event and if you’re going for luxury you can easily do this with the decorations.
Some venues get booked up quite far in advance so as soon as you find one you love and it’s available, you should get it booked. You want to find a venue that’s accessible to everyone and doesn’t require too much travel. Guests will remember if they needed to travel three hours to attend a party in the evening.
Essential entertainment
Entertainment is the thing that is going to make your event memorable. Are you opting for a magician, or do you want something a little more mysterious like a fortune-teller? Add a DJ, a dance floor and have a photographer to capture all of the moments throughout the event.
You can even hire a photobooth for guests to capture their own special moments. Whatever entertainment you choose, ensure it caters for all ages you’ve invited.
Don’t forget essentials
Once you have the venue, guest list and entertainment you need to think about the essentials. If you’re having your event outside, for example, you will need to hire toilet facilities.
You can hire luxury portable toilets which your guests are sure to be impressed with. If you’re having your event inside a building, you may want to consider hiring extra toilets depending on the number of guests.
Consider these five tips to ensure that the event you're planning is a huge success. Pay close attention to detail and be sure to create something that caters to who the event is for.
