Shadow business secretary Chuka Umunna will outline his vision for small businesses in a keynote address at a conference in Westminster on Monday.

The Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) is hosting the event, its first policy conference of 2014.

Also due to speak at the conference are FSB national policy chairman Mike Cherry, Rekha Mehr, who is entrepreneur in residence at the Department for Business, and Bev Hurley, founder of multiple high-growth businesses and a former Queen’s Award for Enterprise winner.

The conference will address the challenge of meeting small business growth ambitions in an upturning economy, potentially taking UK enterprise to the “next level”.

It is likely to cover key business themes such as access to finance and government resources, building international trade and coping with an ever-more complex regulatory framework across the EU.
