Poland’s online shoppers give the most glowing reviews of their experiences with the brands they buy from, according to a new index.
The index by Trusted Shops trawled more than two million reviews in 13,000 stores across five countries – Poland, Germany, France, Spain and the UK.
It showed Polish consumers left the highest online ratings, with an average 4.8 out of five, while French consumers gave the lowest with 4.3 out of five.
The UK was tied in third with Spain and behind Germany lying in second place.
“Are the shops just better in Poland or are customers more discerning in France? It’s hard to say but these findings do starkly highlight just how much difference there is between European customer bases,“ said Phillip Smith, UK manager at Trusted Shops.
“However what retailers can learn from this is they must prepare clearly differentiated strategies when they expand into new markets.”
