The overwhelming majority of employees would consider relocating if given the right package by an employer, according to new research.

Digital marketing recruitment specialists The Candidate said 92 per cent of people would move if offered appropriate pay and perks to do so.

It said relocating talented people could be a solution to the chronic skills shortage facing UK business. Yet only 17 per cent of those interviewed said they had been offered a relocation package.

The study also revealed that only nine per cent of people would consider commuting for more than an hour and half to work each day. Just under half said they would not sit on a train for longer than an hour.

“The digital skills gap is a huge concern for many companies, with many struggling to recruit suitable candidates and from our research, relocation packages seem to be the key pull factor when it comes to attracting a fresh wave of talent into companies,” said The Candidate’s managing partner, Brian Matthews.
