The team behind British ecommerce success story Peopleperhour.com has launched a website aiming to connect consumers with independent food producers.
The new site, called Yumbles.com, features selected food products and gives producers access to a professional online platform and potentially better visability for their products.
Simos Kitiris, co-counder, said: “We launched Yumbles to enable talented food producers to turn their passion into thriving businesses with significant consumer reach.
“Our mission is to re-imagine food commerce in ways that better empower consumers and producers alike.”
Food production and sales is a growing market for UK entrepreneurs and start-up businesses, with figures suggesting there are now 750 farmers markets across the country, up from 201 in 2003.
