A second strike by unionised workers on the London Underground network has been suspended after productive talks between union representatives and Tube authorities.
The 48-hour strike was to begin at 9pm this evening, an earlier walkout caused two days of commuting misery for people working in the Capital.
Unions said they had received word of new plans that would avoid job cuts.
"We now have a golden opportunity to look again in detail at all of the concerns we have raised about the impact of the cuts on our members, said RMT boss Bob Crow.
LU managing director Mike Brown welcomed the news: "We have always said that we want the unions to engage fully with us, to help shape our proposals for the future of the Tube.”
